Your reservation is from 9am - 10pm. This is your permit. Please keep this confirmation for your records.

Electrical outlets are available at the shelter.
Shelter is lighted - automatic on at dusk
No grill rentals but you may bring your own

Restrooms are at the Derby Downs building nearby and unlocked only with a paid shelter reservation. Please note that any reservations prior to April 15 or after October 15 are weather-contingent and restrooms may not be available.

RESERVATIONS ARE RAIN OR SHINE AND SHELTER/ADD-ON FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

If a major shelter problem occurs, please call the 219-462-5144 then select option 1.

Rules for Shelter Rentals:
No canopies or tents
No amplified sound
No decorations that will damage the structure
No artificial petals/leaves, glitter, confetti, rice, fireworks, tiki-torches
Please do not use chalk anywhere in the shelter, including the concrete floor
Anything you bring in must be taken out or thrown away. Renters must remove all decorations, including large items, and take down any tape, string, or other materials used for setup in the shelter and on the tables.
Any large decorations or materials left behind requiring park staff removal may result in an additional cleanup fee.
All tables must be returned to the shelter if they are removed.
Failure to clean-up and/or return the tables to the shelter after your event may result in excess fees of $85 per hour.

Activities during the rental period should be limited to the shelter itself and the immediate surrounding area.
If this rental is for a purpose other than personal/private use you are required to reach out to jgreene@valpo.us with a letter of intent with specific event details. Events of this nature may require additional cooperation with Valpo Parks and/or additional fees.
Do not post someone at the gate to let guests in, the gate is equipped with a support feature that will directly contact Parks staff to help troubleshoot.
Posting flyers or signage anywhere on park grounds is prohibited.
